Mastering — Swampmatix
A Mix Is Not a Master
Your rig sounds fine. Everyone else's rig is the problem — and the master's job.
A mix tells the truth on the system it was made on. A master has to tell the same truth on a festival rig, a phone speaker, a club system pushed past sane volume, and whatever a promoter is running through a cracked laptop at 4am. Low end that doesn't collapse. Highs that don't shred a PA. Loudness that competes without flattening everything you built into the arrangement. That gap between "sounds good here" and "holds up everywhere" is what mastering closes — and it's a different set of ears than the ones that made the mix.
This goes double at the tempos and frequency ranges Wretched Rhythms works in. Sub-heavy dark psy, treble-forward hitech, psycore built to run at speeds most mastering chains were never tuned for — a bad master in this genre space doesn't just sound thin, it disappears entirely on a system built for anything gentler. That's the specific problem Swampmatix masters for.
Who's Running It
Swampmatix — mastering, in-house.
Swampmatix handles mastering for Wretched Rhythms — the stage between a finished mix and a release-ready file. The brief is always the same regardless of genre or client: keep what makes the track distinctive, translate it across every system it'll actually be played on, and hand back something that's ready to go straight to the platforms without a second thought.
Open to darkpsy, hitech and psycore primarily, since that's the label's own territory and where the ear is most tuned — but the intake below isn't genre-locked. Send what you've got.
